Keeping Good Company
Interesting news from Decanter regarding a three part wine series put together by the BBC and to be aired in February.
Featured in part one will be a piece on the ultra famous, ultra-establishment merchant group Berry Bros and Rudd, who have been a fixture in the U.K. wine trade for almost as long as it has existed.
Part two is on Bordeaux's great first growth, Chateau Margaux, but the real interest for Sth Africa is in part three where the program looks at M'Hudi wines, the first black owned vineyard in South Africa, and also Solms -Delta from Franschoek.
It is noticeable that the level of interest in the greater wine world towards South Africa seems to be growing. We're still a fair way down the pecking order but serious programs like this will help to bring greater focus to the rapid improvement that is taking place, and hopefully bring people to drink SA wine as well.
